WWII certainly changed the landscape and helped make British presence in the land less desirable. But Zionism as we know it begain in the late 1800s and the idea of an eventual state was put into play long before the Holocaust became a game piece for the Palestinians to throw around as causing their "unfortunate" circumstances. Not to mention that the nascent state was set to be established long before a Holocaust took place. WWII certainly changed the landscape and helped make British presence in the land less desirable. But Zionism as we know it begain in the late 1800s and the idea of an eventual state was put into play long before the Holocaust became a game piece for the Palestinians to throw around as causing their “unfortunate” circumstances.

So much so, that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem was an assiduous visitor to Berlin and to Berghof (Hitler's summer house in Bavaria) where he often met the Fuhrer to discuss the occupation of the Middle East by the Nazi Army (operating in North Africa) with the help of Arab Muslim countries. What a short memory the World (not to mention the U.N., etc) has! No the poor "Palestinians", that occupied a good part of the Holy Land uninvited, are not the last victims but the perpetrators of the future Holocaust they hope to put into practice against the Israelis. This is the inconvenient truth that no one can deny. Many however do exactly that. Like East Timor, the great Asian democracy.
