U.N. announces end of the world, celebrates “Mayan Cosmovision 2012″

Last week they were announcing the “International Year of Quinoa,” starring Bolivian President Evo “Baby Chavez” Morales; now this.

I’ve just received the email below, sent by the U.N. to accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs). U.S. taxpayers, you are paying for 22 percent of this:

Subject: Invitation to “The Mayan Cosmovision: Is 2012 the end of the world?” – Wednesday, 24 October at 1.30pm – Room S-2726, 27th floor, Secretariat Building, UN Headquarters

Dear NGO Colleagues,

The Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

is pleased to invite you to

“The Mayan Cosmovision: Is 2012 the end of the world?”

Wednesday, 24 October, 1:30 pm

Room S-2726, 27th floor, Secretariat Building, UN Headquarters

After offering their blessings for the new offices of the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the Mayan Elders of the K’iche’ Mayoral of Santo Tomas de Chichicastenango, Guatemala (Maya-Quiche Empire), will share their message with the UN community.

According to the Maya, all aspects of life are governed by the movement of the heavens. Thousands of years ago, Mayan astronomers foresaw in 2012 a unique alignment of the cosmos which occurs only once every 64,000 years. The Maya identified this new cycle as a monumental transition and an opportunity to realign priorities based on the principles of love, gratitude, care and respect for both humanity and our environment.

  • Would the Mayas from Chichicastenango also be discussing the genocide committed by the army according to the United Nations truth commission?
My students are eager to learn about the genocide that happened in the early 1980s.
    Thank you, Professor Marcia Esparza

  • Good old UN doing what they do best – nothing of any substance!…

Why don’t you guys and gals get a real job!… One that’s paid for by being productive in some way?!…

  • Dear UN!
If the world and Western Civilazation, as we see it and love it every day, is to come to an end in two months or so, would it be too much to ask that the UN would focus that time we all have left, on more important issues than constantly attacking the state of Israel for everything that is wrong with the world today. Focusing for instance on things like climate change, the icecaps of the Arctic melting away at an alarming rate, and so forth, Just a thought! And maybe the Mayan Elders can give their version of what’s wrong with the world of today? That should be interesting to hear.
Kind regards from a staunch supporter of Israel,
    Daniel Less

  • No.Never.This will never happen.Nobody believes the UN.The guys who indulge in abusing Israel for no reason because they don’t have any work will not be believed.
