Kudos to the development of international human rights and increasing awareness that is being raised for LGBTI rights. The OIC’s futile attempts to argue in favour of continued discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and spread an attitude of bigotry and intolerance should not be tolerated.

While people are entitled to their own opinions and beliefs this does not in any circumstance allow violence and discrimination to be inflicted on LGBTI individuals because of what you believe in. It is blatant hypocrisy on the part of the OIC to proclaim their commitment to preventing discrimination on grounds such as race and religion yet condemn the fact that the HRC and others are ‘prioritising’ sexual orientation rights.

Good for Israel! When America has a true leader again, we should sever ties with the United Nations altogether and expel it from our nation.

I disagree. By participating, the US gives credence and stature to this organization. The US should withdraw, as Israel did.

I am frankly surprised that Israel remained a member for this long. Israel should have withdrawn in the first year. This organization is simply a tool against Israel; it’s influence must be diminished to that of a gnat. The USA, Canada, the European Union, as well as all other nations that value ethical and moral conduct, should withdraw as well.

For example: Great Britain, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil – none of them have any business participating in this farce.

It’s too bad that so many of the so-called “human rights” activists are rallying against non-existent “Israeli Apartheid” (where Arabs vote, sit on parliament, supreme court) instead of looking at real, systemic abuses such as this.

Another Maurice Strong puppet doing a test to see how much “pushback” complacent Canadians are going to give to the United Nations. What right and what reason could they possibly have to send a “Special Rapporteur” on the right to food to Canada. It is senseless, idiotic and a waste of $$’s that could be used to actually feed some starving people elsewhere.
I hope that some high up Canadian official gives this guy the boot and sends him packing, never to return. (But I won’t hold my breath).
Time to “wake up” Canada. We are being “set up” to be taken to the cleaners.

The SL govt appears ignorant possibly because the people who should keep the govt informed are incompetent. Many competent people like Daya Weerasinghe have left Sri Lanka for greener pastures and are now frustrated that those left behind cannot pull themselves up by their boot straps. It is very easy to be critical but not easy to come up with good ideas or offer help to Sri Lanka on how to fix these problems. Calling “most of Sri Lankans uneducated idiots” may help Daya lower his frustration but it is a demeaning insult thrown at all Sri Lankans. EDITOR: Please edit out such comments.
